Gateway To Ilm is a general bog website base around Islamic knowledge. The website acts also as a biography for Sheik Kamaludin as an author.

When Sheik Mohammed Kamaludin approached me, he wanted me to help him on editing and formating his new revised book (Cultural Perception of Marriage Among Muslims 2018 Edition). Whiles helping him on the editing and formatting the layout, he gave me the background information on he published his earlier book. He also told me how much spent (in the thousands) to publishing his book. Although the company he published with is well establishing around the world, however, I did not see enough room for him to make a profit base on the commission they will get from each sale and the price he has to pay for marketing and reviews.  Following that, I did some research and found that he can sell his book on Amazon without any additional cost or middle man. Furthermore, the book will be available straight in the Kindle Amazon market where there is already millions of customers and publishing cost will come from direct payment from customers. On top of that, he will have the full rights to his book and dont have to handover his rights to any publisher.  Reviewing the book will be free as it will be done by customers themselves after each purchase. Overall this was the best option for him, and after demonstrating how much he can save he was happy to pursue Amazon strategy.

Once the book was completed and I successful help to launch it on the Amazon market, we then began on his own personal website job where he can express his views on when what’s happening around the world as well as promoting his books.

Building the website, we kept it very simple and straight forward. Inspired by the Mosque in Jamaica, we used a matte green and white as the main base colour. We combine the dark grey and black for the header and footer of the website. On the home page, we added an animated image slider promo containing three promotional images. On the header along with the logo, we added three social media link icons.  Close to the footer we also added logo image slide to showcase the affiliate publishes he worked with. On top of we added a contact us form on the contacts page and bits here and there to bring the website alive. Overall Sheik Kamaludin was pleased with the outcome.

After completing the website we continued working further to launch another book called The Hijackers on to the Amazon market. Sheik Kamaludin plans on launching many more in the future.

Working with Sheik Kamaludin I have learned how to prepare and formatted a book for publishing it on the Amazon Kindle market. Also, I managed to learn a couple of things on Microsoft Ward that I did know before which will definitely be useful in the future. If I was to work with Sheik Kamaludin or someone similar to him in the future again, I would find a simple way to set up remote desktop access so that for little issuer I can resolve without needing to meet up each time. Also maybe I would need to make my own video tutorial and a demo website for them to practice until they are confident to do so on their own website. For Sheik Kamaludin, I believe the is so much potential, i believe if he continues blogging on a weekly bases, he will see a bigger grown in traffic i.e. audience well as potential customers for his books.
