KNK is a specialist provider of facilities, repairs, maintenance and refurbishment services based in South London. They offers a wide range of services encompassing building maintenance including, but not limited to, Plumbing, Carpentry, Roofing, Electrics, Glazing, Fencing, Flooring, Building and Emergency Services. They are also committed to offering exceptional value that extends well beyond the service expectations.  When KNK first contacted me for a meeting, they wanted me to work on their online marketing, to help promote and bust their appearance online. But before we finalised the agreement, and in the brinks of the last minute, changes were made, and I was then asked to revamp and recreate their main website to make simple and more user friendly as well ask keeping it up today with the time. So we agreed the terms and signed the contract. Firstly, I started my research on looking into the similarities found on the top competitor’s websites to see how they presented their information, and my findings were quite obvious. Every website and company gave emphasis on its services and products than other information. One thing I noticed, KNKs current website doesn’t give enough information about its services which is the main key selling point of the business. Also, we know that people are not always looking for the same service, rather some people have a specific service which they want, and if they cannot see any mention of it on the website, they will automatically assume that the company don’t offer the service, and so, as a result, the customer will look elsewhere. So going forward, the second thing I did was research to see how much information was current on KNK website,  and then looked into how we could simplify this information so that it will be easier to find. Also, I  looked into the new website we are going build to elaborate more on the list of services in order to attract more audience. Hence when customers looks for a service using a search engine, it will give us a better chance of been recognised by SEO listed in that service page within the website. This took a little bit of time, but at the end, we manage to get rid of unwanted text and make some changes on the outdated infomation. The third thing I did was create to create a sitemap to use a guide to show the new structure on how the pages will be layout on the new website. after this was simply ready to start on the website design itself. For the website design, I was looking for something that will stand out and a design that can be versatile on all devices. Something also in-between a large corporation business and a medium size home improvement service for the public. In order to achieve this combination, I had to make three website designs to which they choose one the thought best represented them. After the winning design choose it was very straight forward from there, I simply created and populated the pages images and text until it we hadn all the infomenation exactly how me wanted it..
After the successful launch of the main website, I was also asked to work on two of their other sites which are Drainage and Roofing, by recreating them to look alike and tie them together as one branding, to which also I manage to do for them. Summary Working with KNK was a massive experience, a wonderful company to work with. I know there is a lot of future for this company, I am always proud to have them on my portfolio. What i learned from this is that the smallest thing that we may take for granted and do see its value straight away may one-day open doors to something huge later down the line. If I had to do this project again will have to cut down on the number of paperwork (maybe delegate it to someone else) so that I can have more time to focus on the development of the project. overall this project was very interesting, I enjoyed every bit of it, only look forward to doing more projects with them.
