Student Homestay is a small family run agency that offers home hosting services for students coming to the UK from abroad.

When I was contacted by the client, He told that he picked up a promotion flyer containing my details and he just wanted a small simple website. He invited me for a consultation at his house and told me how he wants to start a business. He then invited a foreign student that was staying over at his house to join the meeting and say that he will be his business partner.

They explained to me know they want to run the business and what the wanted me to do for them. The reason why the business came about is that the client is currently hosting a foreign student in his house organised by a different agency. By starting their own agency they can cut the middle man so that they can profit more from what is been paid by the student. Although it sounded good at first, the more I worked with the clients the more I sensed lack of experience coming from them.

It took a while to clarify specifically how they want the website to look and what colors they preferred to have. Between themselves, I can also sense conflict in their ideas.

When we finally agreed on what I needed to do and what they need to prepare for me. We began working on the website, first starting the content they prepared, and I then began the pages they wanted to include. Following that, I then started working on a simple logo based on the price we agreed on, followed by the social media pages they requested for me to do for them.

Summary
Working on this project was not easy, I was overwhelmed with unnecessary information that I did not need in order to do my job. Simple things that could have been sorted out by the main client, he passed it off to the foreign student partner to deal with, which lead the communication to a massive gap and prove a little difficult to overcome.  From the beginning, I felt that this project was not well thought out, although they made it sound straight forward, I was thinking more on how are they going to pull this off marketing to the world for student start coming to them directly.

I learned that when dealing with more the one client in the same business project can prove very difficult especially if they have areas that they disagree with themselves. Especially having a meeting with both of them can take double the time to get things done. In future, if I had to deal with double partners, i would just ask one of them to be the direct project leader whom I would make contact with so that things can get less confusing, saving time and repetition.
